Anti-Terrorism Court adjourns bail plea of PTI workers arrested after May 9 attacks

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore adjourned the hearing of bail pleas of dozens of PTI workers who have been arrested in the case of the Jinnah House attack and interfering in government affairs.

About 46 PTI workers sought post-arrest bail through their lawyers on Monday.

However, after hearing arguments, the court adjourned the hearing till June 2.

The Sarwar Road Police have registered multiple cases of riots and attacks on the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore on May 9.

Meanwhile, the court also held a hearing of the bail application of 40 PTI workers in the case registered at Khadian Kasur Police Station.

After an initial investigation, the Kasur police Investigation Officer submitted a report in the court, recommending the removal of the provisions of terrorism charges from the case.

“We withdraw our guarantees as the terror clauses have been removed from the case,” the lawyer said.

The PTI activist Khadija Shah had been experiencing stomach problems in
detention.

After a week-long hide-and-seek, Khadija Shah voluntarily surrendered
herself at Iqbal Town police station in Lahore on May 23.

On the following (May 24), Lahore police got her seven-day judicial custody
from an anti-terrorism court (ATC). The court ordered the police to produce her
