ISLAMABAD: Following the strategy of Sindh government, Punjab government has also decided to impose section 144 in the province. On Monday, Sindh government imposed section 144 in the province to maintain security ahead of PTI’s Azadi March, starting from May 25 (Wednesday).
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said in a press conference that we are imposing section 144 in Punjab.
Atta said that Imran Khan wanted to spread chaos in the country just because he was not in the power.
Meetings, processions, rallies and public gatherings will be banned across Sindh. As per details, violations will be prosecuted under section 144 while it will be enforced across the province for a month. The Sindh Home Department issued a notification regarding the imposition of Section 144.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to deploy army in the red zone in Islamabad and Rangers in Lahore to prevent any mishap during Azadi March.
It should be noted that the former Prime Minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has called upon masses from across the country to participate in the Long March towards Islamabad on May 25.
According to media reports, the government can detain former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed or order his house-arrest while main entry and exit points ahead of Azadi March to prevent entry of masses in Islamabad.
