YouTuber Arrested at Airport for Promoting Betting Apps
LAHORE – A judicial magistrate in Lahore granted a two-day physical remand for popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, in connection with a case related to the alleged promotion of illegal online gambling platforms. The arrest was made by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which took Rehman into custody early Sunday at the Lahore airport.
According to authorities, the NCCIA presented Rehman before a duty magistrate shortly after his arrest, seeking his remand to continue investigations. The court approved the request and instructed the NCCIA to present him again on August 19, along with a comprehensive investigation report.
The case was registered by the state, citing violations under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, specifically sections 13, 14, 25, and 26. Additionally, charges under sections 294-B (obscene acts and songs) and 420 (cheating and dishonesty) of the Pakistan Penal Code have also been included in the FIR. The complaint was officially filed just after midnight on August 17.
The FIR claims that Rehman used his widely followed YouTube platform to promote online betting and gambling applications, including Binomo and 1xBet—apps that are banned in several countries due to their illegal nature.
Previous Controversies and Public Profile
This is not the first time the content creator has found himself in legal trouble. A few months ago, motorway police booked Ducky Bhai for performing dangerous driving stunts, raising questions about his influence on young audiences.
With a subscriber base exceeding 8 million and over 700 videos to his name, Ducky Bhai is one of Pakistan’s most recognized online personalities. His involvement in a gambling-related controversy has sent shockwaves through the local digital content community and raised concerns about accountability among influencers.
