KUWAIT WARNS OF ESCALATION AND LEGAL VIOLATIONS
Kuwait on Wednesday strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, stating that the attacks caused the deaths and injuries of hundreds of civilians. In an official statement, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry described the strikes as a โflagrant violationโ of international law, international humanitarian law, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
Furthermore, the ministry warned that continued military action risks deepening regional instability. It characterized the strikes as a dangerous escalation that undermines Lebanonโs sovereignty, security, and overall stability. According to the statement, such actions also weaken ongoing international efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace in the region.
In addition, Kuwaiti officials stressed that repeated violations could further complicate diplomatic solutions and increase humanitarian concerns. They urged restraint and adherence to established international frameworks.
CALL FOR SECURITY COUNCIL INTERVENTION
Meanwhile, Kuwait called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate and decisive measures. The ministry emphasized the need to deter further attacks and ensure compliance with international resolutions and legal obligations.
Moreover, the statement urged Israeli authorities to respect international legitimacy and abide by relevant agreements. Kuwaiti officials highlighted the importance of collective global action to prevent further escalation and protect civilian lives.
At the same time, Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Lebanon. It expressed strong support for preserving Lebanonโs territorial integrity, security, and political stability. The ministry reiterated that safeguarding regional peace requires coordinated international efforts and strict adherence to international law.
Ultimately, Kuwaitโs remarks reflect growing concern among regional actors over escalating tensions and the potential for broader conflict if hostilities continue unchecked.
