Kubra Yildirim has made history by becoming the first female captain of the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.
The Turkish pilot, with over a decade of experience, began her aviation career with an internship at Turkish Airlines’ maintenance division, THY Technik, before training as a first officer on the airlineโs Airbus fleet.
Yildirim’s career took off when she joined an airline in Dubai, flying the A380 for several years before being promoted to captain.
Sharing the milestone on social media, Yildirim reflected on her journey, saying, “Every step, every challenge, and every success has reshaped me. This profession is not just a job but a part of my life.”
Her achievement marks a significant step forward for women in aviation, serving as an inspiration for aspiring female pilots worldwide.
