PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has disbursed a scholarship fund of Rs61 million to support over 700 minority students across the province.
The distribution of the scholarships was officially launched by Special Assistant for Information Barrister Saif during a ceremony held in Peshawar.
According to official details, the scholarship package includes:
- Rs1 million each for 10 PhD scholars
- Rs200,000 each for 20 MPhil scholars
- Rs100,000 each for 60 students enrolled in professional programs
- Rs70,000 each for 250 undergraduate (BS) students
- Rs50,000 each for 400 intermediate-level students
The initiative aims to enhance access to higher education and professional training for minority students in KP, promoting inclusivity and academic empowerment.
In related news, the Kingdom of Morocco has announced 10 fully funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the 2025โ26 academic year. These scholarships cover admissions to Moroccan public institutions in the fields of Medical Sciences, Engineering, Management, Veterinary Sciences, and Architecture.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan stated that the scholarships are open to Pakistani and AJK nationals, provided they meet specific academic and age-related eligibility criteria.
Key eligibility requirements include:
- For undergraduate programs: Minimum 12 years of education (FSc or A-level), maximum age 23
- For masterโs programs: 16 years of relevant education
- For PhD programs: 18 years of education in a related field
- A valid HAT or USAT score is required, depending on the program level
Applicants must not hold dual nationality, and final nominations will be based on test scores.
