Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has announced significant price increases across its KIA vehicle lineup, effective July 1, 2025. The move follows the introduction of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) levy under the Finance Act 2025, continued depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, and rising international freight charges.
Despite the company’s aim to keep vehicles competitively priced, the hikes range up to Rs700,000 on certain models. The KIA Picanto AT now costs Rs4.09 million after a Rs150,000 increase, while the Stonic EX+ has risen by nearly half a million rupees to Rs5.99 million.
In the Sorento lineup, the HEV AWD and its EMI variant saw the steepest hikes, each up by Rs700,000 to Rs16.69 million and Rs17.19 million, respectively. The Sorento HEV FWD variants climbed by Rs600,000, and the Sorento 3.5L V6 variants increased by Rs400,000.
Sportage prices also jumped: the Alpha variant now sells for Rs8.89 million, the FWD for Rs10.49 million, and the hybrid HEV variant for Rs11.59 million after a Rs600,000 rise.
The premium Carnival saw a Rs700,000 hike, now priced at Rs18.2 million. However, KIA’s fully electric models — EV5 Air, EV5 Earth, and EV9 — remain unchanged, reflecting exemptions granted to new energy vehicles.
LMC clarified that all orders invoiced on or after July 1 will be subject to these revised prices, and customers will also bear any additional duties or taxes applied by the government at the time of delivery.
While electric and hybrid models destined exclusively for export or diplomatic use remain exempt, local buyers will face higher costs driven by new levies and market factors.
