Message ties national resilience to development efforts
Tehran: Mojtaba Khamenei, described as Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has urged Iranians to unite in rebuilding efforts following what he called unprovoked American-Zionist aggression. In a message issued Wednesday to mark Islamic Republic Day and National Nature Day, he emphasized the importance of repairing damage to infrastructure, society, and the environment while advancing the countryโs long-term prosperity.
Moreover, he stated that recent attacks not only harmed civilians but also targeted Iranโs natural landscape. He added that continued development efforts remain both necessary and meaningful despite ongoing challenges. Consequently, he framed reconstruction as a national duty tied to resilience and progress.
Iran observes April 1 as Islamic Republic Day, commemorating the 1979 referendum that replaced the US-backed Pahlavi monarchy. Meanwhile, the date also coincides with National Nature Day, which concludes the 13-day Nowruz holidays marking the Persian New Year.
Tree-planting campaign honors victims of recent violence
Furthermore, Khamenei highlighted public resilience during this yearโs Nowruz period, describing it as marked by steadfastness and dignity amid adversity. He also paid tribute to those killed in recent violence that reportedly began on February 28, referring to them as martyrs.
In addition, he cited an attack on a girlsโ school in Minab, which Iranian sources said caused significant casualties. He used the imagery of โsaplings of hopeโ to honor victims, particularly children, and called for a nationwide tree-planting initiative.
As a result, he urged citizens across cities and villages to plant trees from Nature Day through the end of spring. He concluded that these efforts would symbolize renewal, remembrance, and a collective commitment to a stronger future.
