On and off both sides of the Line of Control (LoC), as well as all over the world, Kashmiris and friends of Kashmir will observe October 27 as “Black Day”โthe day that Indian occupation forces arrived in Srinagar and began to occupy, oppress, and terrorise defenceless Kashmiris.

In a news release, Dr. Irfan, spokesman for the Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), said that it is unfortunate that the Kashmir issue is remained open despite adopted United Nations resolutions.
Dr. Irfan continued that this pattern of brutality still goes unpunished even as the occupier India continues to deliberately target and kill Kashmiris in retaliation for their demand for freedom from Indian rule.
Every year, this day is observed to show support and solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination and to remind the international community of its responsibility to find a solution to this protracted conflict.
The people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir will observe a full shutdown and civic curfew on this day.

Protest marches, rallies, and seminars will be held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and other countries to denounce the Indian Army’s invasion of the area on October 27, 1947, as well as the fascist Indian government led by Narendra Modi’s revocation of the special status of occupied Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference issued a call for the observance of the strike and Black Day.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, the APHC urged the people of Kashmir to show the rest of the world that they would not stop fighting until Jammu and Kashmir were freed from Indian rule.

Since the very beginning, Pakistan has backed the Kashmir cause diplomatically and politically. By honouring Kashmir Black Day on October 27th each year, Pakistan expresses its unwavering support for Kashmir’s liberation.
Meanwhile, Chairman JKSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat expressed his deep sorrow at the passing of Maulana Abbas Ansari in a phone call with Maulana Masroor. He also paid tribute to the late Maulana Abbas Ansari for his significant contributions to the Kashmiri liberation fight.
The JKSM spokesman stated that Kashmiris’ dedication to the liberation cause and sacrifices will never be in vain while endorsing APHC’s call for a shutdown tomorrow.
