Karachites Allowed To Enjoy New Year At Sea View In Clifton
KARACHI: The administration of Karachi has allowed the citizens to celebrate New Year at the Sea View on Saturday night.
Karachi administration today announced that the people of the city can enjoy New Year festivities at the Sea View in Clifton.
Every year, the city administration arranges fireworks at the Sea View on the occasion of New Year.
As the clock ticks 12 at midnight on New Year night, a massive aerial firing and fireworks start in posh areas in Karachi, including Sea View which last for an hour at least.
Last year, the city administration did not allow the New Year celebrations at the Sea View to avoid mishaps.
In Karachi, Sea View is considered the best place for enjoyment and celebrations. Thousands of Karachites gather at the Sea View and it becomes difficult to control traffic and crowd of people on the midnight of the New Year.
The SSP South in Karachi Asad Raza said the police have evolved a plan to manage traffic and ensure trouble-free celebrations at the Sea View in Clifton on Saturday night.
He said, “police would not allow aerial firing, one wheeling, firework, manhandling, or trickery attitudes”.
Over 2,500 police officers will perform duty at Sea View to maintain law and order, he added. Police patrolling will also be increased to avoid any unwanted situation at the beach front.
Asad Raza said that police will take action against the individuals who will involve in aerial firing on the occasion of New Year attempted murder clauses.
Therefore, he urged the citizens to avoid such activities and remain peaceful on the night of Saturday (Dec 31).
