Fatima Jafri Appeals for Protection
Islamabad — Pakistani citizen Fatima Jafri, a resident of Karachi, has appealed to authorities for protection against her absconding husband, Umais Abdullah Siddiqui.
She alleged that Siddiqui, who holds dual American and Pakistani citizenship, is threatening to kill her and her children from abroad.
Husband Accused of Fraud and Deception
Fatima stated that Siddiqui deceived her into marriage and defrauded her of nearly Rs. 80 million (around $300,000 USD).
After committing the fraud, he fled silently to the United States, leaving her and their children behind.
She added that Siddiqui later married another woman from Chunian, Kasur, who is a single mother of two daughters.
Police Arrested Siddiqui in Lahore Before His Escape
Following Fatima Jafri’s complaint, Punjab Police raided a house in Lahore on August 6, 2025, and arrested Siddiqui.
He was found hiding with the woman from Chunian at the time of his arrest.
Authorities later confirmed that Siddiqui is wanted in multiple fraud and forgery cases across Sindh and Punjab.
Pattern of Exploitation and Threats Alleged
Fatima Jafri accused her husband of deceiving several women, subjecting them to financial, mental, and physical abuse.
She said Siddiqui used the courts in Sindh and Punjab to delay justice before escaping abroad.
From the United States, he has reportedly continued to threaten her and her children with violence.
Appeal to Prime Minister and Interior Minister
Fatima Jafri urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to intervene and ensure her family’s safety.
She called for swift action against Siddiqui and requested coordination with U.S. authorities to bring him to justice.
