The 16th Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) wrapped up with a strong call to recognize and amplify “narratives from the soil” as authentic expressions of peopleโs voices across diverse landscapes.
The three-day festival featured engaging panel discussions on a wide range of topics, where experts exchanged insights and proposed ways to bring positive change to society.
On its final day, KLF also marked the launch of 14 new books, including poetry collections. A notable session was the special launch of Journey Through Chaos, featuring a panel discussion with prominent figures such as Saeed Ghani, Mazhar Abbas, Mushahid Hussain Syed, and Wusatullah Khan. The discussion was moderated by Ahmed Shah.
The closing ceremony was graced by notable speakers, including former senator Khushbakht Shujaat and journalist Mishal Husain.
Speaking at the event, Husain highlighted the role of literature and the arts in shaping and advancing societies. “Art and literature define and develop a society, and KLF serves as one of the most effective platforms for driving social progress,” she stated.
Former senator Khushbakht Shujaat underscored the importance of public and private sector collaboration to sustain such cultural initiatives. She emphasized that Karachi must support platforms like KLF to strengthen democratic principles and foster intellectual growth.
The festival concluded with a mesmerizing Qawwali performance by renowned maestros Ustad Farid Ayaz and Ustad Abu Muhammad, adding a traditional and soulful touch to the closing ceremony.
