Kabaddi player Makha Jutt Jahanian Mandiwala tragically passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack during a match in Vehari, sending shockwaves through the sports community.
The player suddenly collapsed mid-game, and despite immediate attempts to revive him, he could not be saved. His untimely death has left fans and fellow athletes mourning the loss of a dedicated and passionate kabaddi star.
Federation officials, deeply saddened by the tragedy, extended heartfelt condolences to his family. Pakistan Kabaddi Federation President Shafi Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Sarwar Rana described the incident as a dark day for the sport. “We are deeply grieved by the passing of a player on the field,” Secretary Sarwar said in his statement. “We pray that Allah Almighty grants patience to the bereaved family. The entire kabaddi community is saddened by this untimely loss.”
While the kabaddi world was grappling with this tragedy, another heartbreaking incident struck the sport late Sunday night in Chunian. International kabaddi player Nasir Pehlwan was shot dead after resisting an armed robbery.
According to police, Nasir was returning home from a match when armed assailants intercepted him. Upon resistance, they shot him in the head. Despite being rushed for medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
Nasir, a resident of Khadian and father of three, had represented Pakistan in numerous international tournaments, including highly competitive encounters against India. His brother told reporters that Nasir had brought immense pride to Pakistan through his achievements but fell victim to rising street crime.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered at Allahabad Police Station against unidentified suspects, and the body has been shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. Investigations are ongoing, as the kabaddi community mourns the devastating loss of two players in such tragic circumstances.
