After India’s emphatic victory over Pakistan, star batter Jemimah Rodrigues shared that the team’s main focus during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 is to stay in their own “bubble” and ignore outside distractions. Rodrigues said that creating a strong internal environment helps players remain positive and consistent throughout the tournament.
“We’re concentrating on building our own space, where the team stays together and filters out outside noise,” Rodrigues said after the match. “Whether we win or face challenges, our aim is to focus on our process and energy within the team.”
Rodrigues also expressed that this campaign is about honoring Indian women’s cricket legends like Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. She mentioned that the current team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, wants to continue the legacy by bringing home the World Cup title.
Reflecting on the win against Pakistan, she credited the bowlers for exploiting the tricky Colombo pitch and highlighted Richa Ghosh’s quick 35* that boosted India’s total. Young pacer Kranti Gaud’s 3/20 spell was also key in breaking Pakistan’s batting momentum.
Rodrigues emphasized that staying mentally strong will define India’s performance in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. “We want to remain in the moment, back each other, and build confidence from within. That’s our biggest strength as a unit,” she said.
As the tournament continues, India looks determined to maintain focus, unity, and composure — aiming not just for victories but to make history in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
