Israel has raised military readiness as officials track a growing likelihood of a United States strike on Iran. Assessments in Tel Aviv have shifted from whether Washington will act to when it may move.
Consequently, Israeli leaders expect advance notification from the United States to prepare for possible Iranian retaliation, including missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory. As a precaution, the Israel Defense Forces increased alert levels across units, with emphasis on the air force and air defense systems.
Military correspondent Dorron Kadosh reported that senior officials now view a US strike as increasingly inevitable. He said planners assume Iranโs leadership would order retaliatory attacks against American targets across the Middle East and against Israel if Washington launches an operation.
Coordination deepens as uncertainty persists
Meanwhile, Israeli analysts say coordination with US Central Command has intensified. Teams now conduct intelligence monitoring focused on Iran and its regional allies.
Officials assess that Tehran could respond through Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, or armed groups operating from Syria and Iraq. They also warn of potential cyber operations and attacks on overseas targets. At the same time, Israeli officials caution that Washington has not finalized its plans.
Analysts note US options range from cyber measures and limited strikes to broader military action requiring deployments. The heightened alert follows Iranโs accusations that the United States and Israel back unrest linked to nationwide protests.
President Donald Trump has threatened action and warned Tehran against bloodshed. However, some Israeli security experts urge caution, emphasizing that no definitive indicators confirm an US strike or immediate Iranian attack.
