ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new song, Dushman Sun (“Listen, Enemy”), to mark the sixth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort—the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) military response on February 27, 2019.
The song reflects the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to defending the nation’s sovereignty against external threats. Written by Ahmad Azeem and composed and performed by Kamran Allah Khan, the musical tribute underscores the spirit of resilience and national pride.
February 27, 2019, holds a pivotal place in Pakistan’s military history, as the PAF shot down two Indian fighter jets in response to a border violation. One of the downed pilots, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, was captured by Pakistani forces after ejecting from his aircraft.
Describing the event as a testament to Pakistan’s military professionalism and national resolve, the ISPR emphasized that Operation Swift Retort was a firm response to airspace violations by its nuclear-armed neighbor.
“This song stands as a reminder of our nation’s pledge to decisively counter any aggression against Pakistan’s sovereignty,” the ISPR stated, calling it “a clarion call to any adversary harboring hostile intentions.”
Operation Swift Retort remains a source of national pride, commemorated annually as a symbol of Pakistan’s defense capabilities and strategic preparedness.
The song’s release comes amid continued regional tensions, with military officials reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity and responding to any future threats.
