BLA Terrorists
In a significant blow to insurgent networks operating in Balochistan, Pakistani security forces killed seven militants belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), also known as Fitna al Hindustan, in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday.
The first operation was carried out in the Mach area of Kachhi district, following credible intelligence about the presence of armed militants in the region. According to ISPR, security personnel swiftly moved to intercept the suspects. The ensuing firefight resulted in the deaths of five militants affiliated with the BLA. The operation was conducted with precision, ensuring no collateral damage while neutralising the hostile threat.
A second intelligence-led operation was launched in the Margand area of Kalat district. Acting on specific leads, troops targeted a suspected militant hideout. The ISPR confirmed that two more BLA operatives were killed in this operation after a brief but intense exchange of fire. The military’s media wing noted that both raids were part of an ongoing campaign to dismantle insurgent networks that pose a threat to national security.
Following the operations, security forces recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the hideouts. The ISPR stated that the militants eliminated had direct links to India-sponsored terrorism and had been involved in multiple attacks on security forces and key infrastructure in Balochistan.
“These terrorists were part of hostile intelligence networks aiming to destabilize the region through violence and fear,” the statement read. “Their elimination marks a key step in Pakistan’s commitment to combat terrorism and protect its citizens.”
The ISPR reaffirmed the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to continue the fight against terrorism with full determination. “Security forces remain committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and reaffirm the nation’s resolve to bring perpetrators and their facilitators to justice,” the military’s statement concluded.
These operations are part of a larger counterterrorism initiative across Balochistan, a region that has long been a battleground between state forces and separatist insurgents.
While violence in the province has decreased over recent years, sporadic attacks still occur, underscoring the need for sustained security operations and intelligence-led actions to maintain peace and stability.
