ISLAMABAD: In the wake of the killing of local PML-N leader Ishtiaq Abbasi in Pandorianโan area under the jurisdiction of Khanna Police StationโIslamabadโs Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Nasir Rizvi has initiated an internal clean-up operation targeting officers suspected of ties to drug trafficking networks.
The move comes after preliminary departmental reports revealed potential links between certain police personnel and drug dealers operating in the capital. As a result, 13 officers have been dismissed from service, including the former Station House Officer (SHO) of Khanna Police Station.
According to police sources, those removed include:
- Sub-Inspector Qasim Zia (former SHO, Khanna Police Station)

In addition to the departmental investigation, Rizvi directed all district police officers to carry out an intensified crackdown on narcotics networks across Islamabad.
