ISLAMABAD: To ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience during the Pakistan Day parade, Islamabad Traffic Police has announced a heavy traffic ban from noon on March 22 until 3:00 PM on March 23.
On March 23, the Srinagar Highway will be closed in both directions between Seventh Avenue and Kudiyanwala Chowk from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Travelers heading to Bhara Kahu are advised to use Seventh Avenue, Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road. This diversion may cause disruptions on both the Srinagar Highway and the Expressway.
For heavy traffic traveling from Peshawar to Lahore, alternative routes via the Taxila Motorway or Tarnol Phatak via the Fateh Jang Motorway are recommended.
Those traveling from Lahore to Islamabad and Rawalpindi via GT Road should take Chak Beli Road to access the Chakri Motorway. Similarly, travelers coming from Peshawar via GT Road to Rawat should follow the Taxila Motorway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat route.
Motorists traveling from Lahore via GT Road to Peshawar should take Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri, and the Taxila Motorway.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain Zeeshan stated that Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) personnel will be stationed at key points to assist travelers. He encouraged commuters to contact the ITP helpline at 1915 for assistance and to tune in to FM 92.4 for real-time traffic updates.
Additionally, ITP’s social media platforms will provide continuous updates on traffic routes.
