PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar, who returned to Pakistan from London, where he had resided for five years in self-imposed exile, was sworn in as a senator.
He will take the oath of office as a federal minister today (Wednesday) at 10 am.
At Aiwan-e-Sadar, President Arif Alvi will swear Dar in.
The arrest order for Dar, who had been duly elected to the Senate from Punjab, was suspended by an accountability court last week after he had been absent from the nation since October 2017.
In accordance with the resolution reached during a meeting between PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in London, Dar is prepared to receive the finance ministry portfolio. Miftah Ismail, the head of the PML-N, officially resigned from his position as finance minister on Tuesday by giving Prime Minister Shehbaz his letter of resignation.
