Strait of Hormuz: The IRGC categorically refuted the claims by the POTUS, yesterday about the concessions made by the Iranian government by stopping a number of tankers when they approached the Strait at the exit point, where the final modalities are worked out for the eventual exit. For the benefit of readers, statements from the POTUS have been making mention of Iranian side willingness to talk and he mentioned a number of times that eight to ten tankers have been allowed transit for the eventual delivery to the US or its allies.
The incident sporadically reported in the International media and now confirmed by the Qatar based Al Jazeera Channel of the developments taking place since morning. Journalistic sources maintain that on ground there has not been any such development, rather the latest IRGC announcement about complete clampdown on any movement across the Persian Gulf throws the world into another unexpected and developing situation.
There has been much speculation about a breakthrough between the United States and Iran, but given the midday afternoon statement by the IRGC navy, the situation seems to be back to zero again. It is pertinent to note that three container ships of different nationalities moved toward the designated corridor for the transit of ships with permits, which were turned back with a warning from the IRGC Navy. The IRGC Navy later announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and that any movement in this strait will be met with a harsh response. The movement of any ship โto and fromโ ports of the allies and supporters of the ZionistโAmerican enemies to any destination and from any corridor is prohibited.
