Ireland’s famous university, the University of Galway, has announced 2026 Hardiman PhD Scholarships for international students. The University has invited applications from students worldwide for the prestigious 2026 Hardiman PhD Scholarships.
Students from Pakistan can also submit their applications online. The fully funded program targets individuals who wish to begin a full-time Structured PhD on September 1, 2026. The application deadline is February 6, 2026, at 17:00 Irish Time.
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support. It covers full tuition fees for four years and offers a tax-free annual stipend of €25,000 for the same duration. In addition, scholars gain access to world-class research facilities, structured doctoral training, and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities. However, the university clarified that the award does not cover the student levy and does not include a dedicated budget for travel or research consumables. Nevertheless, the program remains one of the most attractive doctoral funding options in Europe.

The University of Galway requires applicants to hold a First Class or Upper Second Class (2:1) honors degree or an equivalent qualification. The program does not accept individuals who are already enrolled in a PhD or those who have previously completed one. Furthermore, candidates must meet the university’s English language requirements and must nominate at least one eligible faculty member as a primary supervisor.
Applicants must prepare essential documents, including a detailed CV, academic transcripts, a personal research statement, and valid proof of English proficiency.
