Lorcan Tucker, standing in for the injured Paul Stirling, played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 94. Moreover, Ireland hammered eight sixes in the final three overs alone. As a result, the team finished with 235 for 5 in 20 overs. This total is the highest in the ongoing T20 World Cup and the second-highest in all T20 World Cups.
Oman Spinners Strike Early but Ireland Fight Back
Initially, Oman spinners made an immediate impact. Left-arm spinner Shakeel Ahmed tore through Ireland’s top order, leaving the visitors struggling. Despite the early damage, Ireland’s middle and lower order steadied the innings.

Oman’s Response Falls Short
Oman started their innings well, led by 44-year-old Aamir Kaleem, who struck 50 off 29 balls. His early aggression initially raised hopes of a successful chase. However, wickets fell rapidly after the initial burst.
Meanwhile, Ireland bowlers capitalized on the momentum, maintaining pressure and picking key wickets at crucial moments. Ultimately, Oman were bowled out for 139 runs with two overs to spare. Their innings collapsed after Kaleem’s dismissal, and they could not recover.
