Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed its latest assault on Israel employed a new tactic that caused Israeli missile defense systems to mistakenly engage one another.
In a statement issued on Monday, the IRGC said that Operation Sadeq utilized advanced intelligence and cutting-edge technology to disrupt Israel’s command-and-control infrastructure. The group warned that future campaigns — including Operation Sadeq 3 — would be “more devastating, more complex, more precise, and more destructive.”
According to IRGC-affiliated Sepah News, Iran’s Aerospace Forces launched a new barrage of missile strikes described as “more powerful and damaging” than earlier attacks. The IRGC asserted that these strikes led Israel’s multilayered defense systems to misfire, effectively compromising their own effectiveness.
“Despite Israel’s use of advanced Western-backed defense technology, our missiles reached critical targets,” the IRGC said, adding that such operations will persist “until the complete dismantling of this illegitimate regime.”
The Israeli military has not yet issued a formal response, but officials have acknowledged that no missile defense system is foolproof and have warned of “difficult days ahead.”
In the early hours of Monday, Iranian missiles struck Tel Aviv and Haifa, damaging homes and critical infrastructure. Israel’s national emergency service confirmed at least five fatalities and around 90 injuries in Haifa, where fires were reported at a power plant near the port.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing in multiple areas hit by the strikes, with emergency teams deployed across affected zones.
