Iranโs military has pledged a strong response after US and Israeli strikes on residential areas that Tehran says have killed more than 1,300 civilians since the conflict began 11 days ago.
According to Iranian officials, nearly 10,000 civilian sites have also been damaged during the ongoing military campaign.
Armed forces spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi confirmed that Iran remains committed to retaliatory operations as tensions continue to rise across the region.
Iranian authorities announced the 37th wave of retaliatory strikes targeting Israeli-linked positions. Officials said the operation involved the advanced Khorramshahr-4 missile.
According to Iranian statements, the strikes targeted military sites in Jerusalem, facilities associated with the United States across the region and a satellite communications centre in Tel Aviv.
The announcement came as military activity and security incidents were reported across several Middle Eastern countries.
Regional incidents heighten security concerns
Meanwhile, maritime authorities reported a separate security incident in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the worldโs most critical oil shipping routes.
The United Kingdomโs maritime security monitoring centre said a cargo ship caught fire after being struck by an unidentified projectile. According to officials, crew members began evacuating the vessel and requested emergency assistance.
At the same time, Saudi Arabiaโs defence authorities reported intercepting multiple drones over the Empty Quarter desert. The drones were reportedly heading toward the Shaybah oilfield, one of the kingdomโs major energy facilities.
Saudi officials said air defence systems destroyed five drones near the oilfield and intercepted two additional waves of drones in the countryโs eastern region.
Separately, Qatarโs Defence Ministry announced that air defence units intercepted a missile believed to have been launched from Iran. Authorities said the threat was neutralised and that the situation had returned to normal.
