Apple has launched the second developer beta of iOS 26.2, introducing refined visual elements and practical functionality improvements for iPhone users. This update follows the initial beta release and continues Apple’s commitment to enhancing user experience ahead of the official December launch.
Visual Design Refinements
The Measure app now incorporates Apple’s Liquid Glass aesthetic, featuring transparent glass-like elements that replace the previous flat design. The Level tool specifically displays two interactive Liquid Glass bubbles that dynamically respond to screen movements and numerical displays.
Games App Receives Major Updates
The Games application introduces library sorting and filtering capabilities, controller navigation support, and real-time score updates during gameplay. Apple has implemented a new splash screen highlighting these enhanced features, demonstrating the company’s push toward improving the gaming ecosystem on iPhone and iPad devices.
CarPlay and Accessibility Improvements
CarPlay users gain independent control over pinned messages through a dedicated toggle, allowing separate configurations from iPhone iMessage settings. On the accessibility front, users can now configure screen flashes for incoming alerts, expanding beyond the previous LED-only notification option.
Enhanced Safety Features
The Notifications menu includes a new Enhanced Safety Alerts section, providing earthquake warnings and imminent threat notifications with location-based reliability improvements.
The Freeform app gains table support, while the Reminders app now offers alarm functionality for urgent tasks. These additions complement features introduced in beta 1, including offline Apple Music lyrics and customizable Lock Screen Liquid Glass transparency.
Apple expects to release iOS 26.2 to all users in December, with subsequent beta versions likely introducing additional refinements before the final rollout.
