DOHA/ISLAMABAD: Unanimous efforts must be made to curb poverty and climatic catastrophe in the world.

Premier said that Pakistan supports the socioeconomic development of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

PM Shehbaz Sharif stated this while addressing the UN’s conference in Doha, Qatar on Monday.

He lauded the United Nations’ role in holding this conference in Doha to highlight the challenges the LDCs are facing and to find their solutions.

PM Shehbaz pointed out that the LDCs are the worst victims of climatic change in the world.

The Least Developed Countries are also grappling with the problem of growing poverty. Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to work with unity to overcome global challenges.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated long-lasting friendly ties with Qatar.

Premier also highlighted the devastation of floods and tormenting rains in Pakistan last year.

Earlier, Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani assured his full support to Pakistan during meeting with Prime minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On Sunday, Amir of Qatar held a meeting with PM Shehbaz and discussed mutually beneficial issues. He reiterated his resolve to continue Qatar’s cooperation in the development and progress of Pakistan.

Qatari officials welcome PM Shehbaz Sharif in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the start of the UN moot.

PM Shehbaz Sharif is in Doha on a two-day official visit. He is attending the 5th United Nations conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

The conference, started on March 5 and it will conclude on March 9 in Doha. The UN’s moot will consider steps for accelerating sustainable development in the Least Developed Countries, helping them make progress on the road to prosperity.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister of Pakistan reached Doha, the capital city of Qatar to attend the UN conference. PM Shehbaz Sharif will return to Pakistan today after attending the conference.
