Moscow has reported that Ukraine has targeted and damaged a third bridge in Russia’s Kursk region, as Kyiv continues its efforts to expand its incursions into Russian territory.
Russia’s Investigative Committee confirmed the attack on the bridge over the River Seym, which flows through the Kursk region.
In a related development, Russia claimed on Monday that its marines had captured 19 Ukrainian soldiers in the area, labeling them as “saboteurs,” according to the state news agency RIA Novosti. The outlet released a video purportedly showing the captured Ukrainian troops, though the footage could not be independently verified.
On Sunday, Ukraine announced that it had destroyed a second bridge over the River Seym, following an earlier strike on a bridge in the Russian town of Glushkovo on Friday. These attacks are part of a broader cross-border offensive launched by Ukraine on August 6.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk commented on the attacks in a Telegram post on Sunday, sharing an aerial video of one of the bridge blasts and stating that the strikes aim to disrupt Russian supply lines.
