ISLAMABAD: President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan postponed his visit to Islamabad today due to bad weather.
Earlier, UAE President was scheduled to visit Islamabad on Monday on a day-long visit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal ministers were scheduled to welcome Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Noor Khan air base.
UAE President Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on Jan 25 on a two-leg visit. The first visit was his personal and he landed in the southern region of Rahim Yar Khan where PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomed him.
Local Holiday in Islamabad
Islamabad administration today announced a local holiday in the wake of Al Nahyan’s visit. The government has decided to adopt stringent security measures on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, issued the notification of the holiday.
However, certain essential services, such as the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESC), and hospital staff, will not be affected by the holiday and will continue to work as usual.
