UAE Aviation Security Team Commends Islamabad and Karachi Airports for International Standards

RAWALPINDI: The aviation security team from the UAE-General Civil Aviation Authority (UAE-GCAA) has lauded Islamabad and Karachi airports for their adherence to international security standards following a comprehensive assessment.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) confirmed on Friday that the evaluation was conducted by the UAE-GCAA team, led by Senior Director Abdullah Al Kaabi.

The UAE team, on their inaugural assessment visit to Pakistan, rigorously inspected various security aspects at both airports, including passenger and baggage screening, cargo handling, and catering security.

The assessment also encompassed evaluations of airlines operating directly in the UAE, ground handling agents, regulated cargo agents, and catering companies. Key areas of focus included security access control, aircraft inspections, and adherence to national and airline security protocols.

During a debriefing session with PCAA officials, the UAE-GCAA team expressed satisfaction with the overall security protocols maintained by airport management, the Airport Security Force, airlines, cargo operators, and other stakeholders. They commended the facilities for their alignment with international standards and best practices.

The assessment follows earlier audits and assessments conducted throughout the year, highlighting ongoing efforts to ensure robust aviation security measures in Pakistan. The UAE-GCAA team’s positive feedback reinforces Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining high standards in aviation security, crucial for ensuring safe and efficient operations at its international airports.

This recognition is expected to bolster confidence among international travelers and stakeholders, underscoring Pakistan’s readiness to meet global aviation security benchmarks. As Pakistan continues to enhance its aviation infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, collaborations with international aviation authorities such as the UAE-GCAA play a pivotal role in advancing these efforts.
