Haibatullah Akhunzada, the supreme leader of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban, has declared cross-border terror attacks in Pakistan, as “haram”. He said Islam has forbidden such attacks.
The supreme leader of Taliban officially announced his decree against terror attacks in Pakistan from Afghanistan.
Earlier, Haibatullah Akhundzada conveyed his decree to Pakistani delegation through a senior Taliban leader.
However, on the request of Pakistan, Akhundzada announced his “Fatwa” officially to discourage cross-border attacks.
Meanwhile, in recent bilateral discussions, senior Taliban leaders conveyed a decree from Haibatullah Akhundzada to Pakistani officials. The decree showed their resolute commitment to preventing any threats originating from Afghan soil against neighboring nations.
The matter remained a prominent topic during recent bilateral three-day meetings in Kabul. Asif Durrani, the special representative on Afghanistan, and his delegation represented Pakistan in meetings.

They engaged with prominent Taliban figures, including Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani.
The visit coincided with a surge in lethal attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians. TTP has claimed responsibility for orchestrating much of the violence.
This heightened security concern for strategic dialogues between Afghan and Pakistani officials to address shared security challenges.
A senior Pakistani official said that discussions in Kabul primarily focused on the TTP’s bases and activities in Afghanistan. Haibatullah’s edicts hold influence over groups that pledge allegiance to him.
Conversely, the state-run Afghan television broadcast an audio clip of a speech by Taliban Defense Minister Mohammad Yaqoob. He revealed certain details of Haibatullah’s directive regarding cross-border violence.
