Syria’s Damascus Airport to Reopen Airspace for Civil Aviation Soon

Syria is set to reopen its airspace for air traffic in the coming hours, according to Bahaa el-Din Sharm, the newly appointed Minister of Transport for Syria’s rebel government.

This move is part of ongoing efforts to restore civilian aviation operations in the country. Sharm confirmed that work is underway to equip civilian airports, with necessary maintenance being carried out to ensure smooth aircraft arrivals and departures.

Damascus and Aleppo Airports to Follow

The minister also announced that the reopening dates for Damascus and Aleppo international airports will be shared in the coming days, signaling progress towards normalizing air travel in the region.

This development marks an important step in Syria’s recovery as it works to rebuild its infrastructure and reestablish connections with the global aviation network.
