Female Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia has issued guidelines regarding the dress of female pilgrims, defining what they can wear while performing Umrah and Hajj.
On X, formally known as Twitter, the ministry issued a three-point advisory, directing women to wear loose-fitting dresses without decorative elements that cover the entire body.
The ministry added that women could choose their clothes, but they must meet the ministry’s specified conditions.
Last year, the kingdom allowed women to perform Umrah without a male guardian.
According to Hajj and Umrah services adviser Ahmed Saleh Halabi, it is now permissible for a woman to perform Hajj or Umrah without a mahram, accompanied by “trustworthy women or secure company to perform Hajj or Umrah. This is the view of the Maliki and Shafi’i scholars.”
After authorities allowed Hajj to proceed on its pre-pandemic scale last year, almost three million Pakistanis reached the Kingdom to perform Hajj.
President Alvi Suggests November 6 As Ideal Election Date
Moreover, on Wednesday, President Dr. Arif Alvi wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, proposing November 6 as the date for elections.
In the letter, the president stated that he had dissolved the National Assembly on the prime minister’s advice on August 9. He cited Article 48(5) of the Constitution, which, he asserted, “empowers and mandates the president to appoint a date not later than 90 days from the date of the dissolution for the holding of a general election to the Assembly.”
