During the crucial final question round, the top three contestants faced the same query, ultimately determining their respective rankings.
The question posed was: “If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why?”
The 27-year-old Thai model swiftly responded by choosing Malala Yousafzai, citing admiration for the challenges Malala overcame to achieve her current status. Porsild emphasized Malala’s advocacy for women’s education and her inspirational role in empowering women to be strong leaders and catalysts for change.
Miss Thailand’s thoughtful answer garnered praise from internet users, with some expressing surprise at her not clinching the crown.
In contrast, Miss Nicaragua, the eventual Miss Universe winner, chose Mary Wollstonecraft in response to the same question. She highlighted Wollstonecraft’s pioneering contributions to women’s rights, acknowledging her as the first woman to pave the way for gender equality.
Miss Australia, securing the second runner-up position, selected her mother as the woman whose shoes she would step into for a year. She described her mother as a resilient and influential figure who imparted valuable lessons on hard work, bravery, and strength.
The 72nd edition of the Miss Universe competition took place in El Salvador, featuring over 80 participants competing for the prestigious title and crown.
