prince harry opens up about reasons for giving up royal duties

United Kingdom’s Prince Harry has recently given an interview to James Corden for The Late Late Show. Harry has outlined the reason for leaving UK along with his family. Harry said Meghan and himself decided to move from the Buckingham Palace owning to toxicity of media’s constant trolling.

harry revealed his mental health was “destroyed” due to “toxic” media attention. The interview came after the Buckingham palace announced that the Duke Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle would not be resuming royal duties.

Talking to Corden, Harry said,

“We all know what the British press can be like, and it was destroying my mental health. I was like, This is toxic. So I did what any husband and any father would do — I was like, I need to get my family out of here.”

“But we never walked away,” he added. “As far as I’m concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never walk away. I will always be contributing.”

Harry vowed his life will always be about public service. He added,

“And Meghan signed up to that. The two of us enjoy doing that — trying to bring some compassion and trying to make people happy, and trying to change the world in whatever small way we can.”

Discussing how he first met his Meghan, Harry admitted,

“it wasn’t more about where we went but how we hit it off. We were just so comfortable with each other’s company.”

Speaking about how dating a royal prince could be different from any other person he said,

“Being with me or any other members of the royal family, things flip upside down. All the dates become dinners or watching TV or chatting at home. Then when you become a couple, then you can venture out in public to cinemas and everything else — so everything was done back to front for us.”

Commenting on The Crown and Harry admitted that while it was fiction “it was loosely based on the truth.”
