The Pakistani embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, has issued safety guidelines for Pakistanis in light of the rising tensions following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
Pakistani nationals living in or traveling to Lebanon are advised to exercise extreme caution.
Additionally, several countries have already instructed their citizens to leave Lebanon.
While hundreds of Pakistani workers are involved with NGOs in Lebanon, the number of Pakistani students there is minimal.
The embassy has been in constant communication with the Pakistani community, encouraging them to contact the embassy in case of emergencies.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated last week in Iran, according to both the Palestinian militant group and Tehran. This event has led to threats of retaliation against Israel in a region already affected by the ongoing war in Gaza and escalating tensions in Lebanon.
