Pakistan’s military has unveiled what it calls “irrefutable evidence” of India’s direct involvement in orchestrating terrorist activities within its borders, further escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
During a high-profile press briefing, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, accused India of state-sponsored terrorism. He stated that Indian handlers are operating a sophisticated network of terrorists inside Pakistan, with direct involvement from officers of the Indian Army.
According to DG ISPR, a significant breakthrough occurred on April 25 when Pakistani security forces arrested a man named Abdul Majeed near the Jhelum bus stand. The suspect was reportedly trained in India and was apprehended while carrying a drone, an improvised explosive device (IED), and Rs 25,000. A subsequent raid on his residence led to the seizure of another drone and Rs 1 million in cash.
Crucially, forensic analysis of Majeed’s mobile phone revealed extensive communications with Indian handlers. One of his main contacts was identified as Subedar Sukhwinder, an officer in the Indian Army, who reportedly provided Majeed with instructions for making bombs and carrying out attacks within Pakistan.
DG ISPR played audio clips during the briefing, where Indian handlers could be heard inciting Majeed and other terrorists to create large-scale chaos in Pakistan. One handler chillingly said, “We want a large number of dead bodies,” emphasizing the desire for attacks with high media impact.
The military spokesperson also revealed that Majeed was responsible for 47 terrorist operations in Pakistan. Another Indian officer, Major Sandeep, is said to have supplied IEDs via drones and provided operational guidance. In one such incident, an IED attack injured three Pakistan Army personnel. Following this attack, Major Sandeep allegedly transferred Rs 180,000 to Majeed in multiple transactions.
The plot further unfolded when one drone carrying explosives crashed due to a technical failure and was later recovered from Majeed’s residence. In another case, a potential bombing was thwarted when schoolchildren spotted suspicious bags—later found to contain five IEDs—before Majeed could retrieve them.
DG ISPR accused Indian media of running disinformation campaigns to shift blame and hide New Delhi’s role. After failed attacks, Indian media outlets reportedly circulated fake stories, suggesting terrorist incidents along the Line of Control (LoC), attempting to portray Pakistan as the aggressor.
The press conference concluded with DG ISPR stating that Indian Army officers had tasked militants with launching attacks across Pakistan—from Balochistan to Lahore—with the explicit aim of killing both military personnel and civilians.
He confirmed that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attempted to infiltrate the country but was intercepted by the Pakistan Army in a large-scale operation that resulted in the killing of 71 terrorists.
DG ISPR labeled these revelations as undeniable proof of India’s deliberate efforts to destabilize Pakistan through organized and sustained terrorist activities.
