On Tuesday, Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations, aiming to foster greater business integration between the two nations.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkii and Caretaker Minister for Interior and Commerce Dr. Gohar Ejaz, who convened to discuss and negotiate bilateral economic cooperation.
The meeting, which included the participation of the interior secretary, commerce secretary, and other high-ranking officials, emphasized the importance of enhancing business ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both parties agreed to further develop business-to-business relations and commence negotiations to explore new avenues of economic collaboration.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz, in his remarks during the meeting, highlighted the potential for Saudi industrialists to benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan’s steel and petrochemical industry.
He underscored the government’s efforts to promote cooperation between the two countries in the Information Technology (IT) sector. Additionally, the minister pointed out the natural beauty of the northern regions of Pakistan and suggested that investing in luxury resorts in these areas could be mutually beneficial.
Notably, Dr. Gohar Ejaz mentioned the ongoing efforts to establish ‘Brand Pakistan’ stores globally, aimed at marketing Pakistani products on the international stage. This initiative reflects a strategic approach to showcase and promote the diversity and quality of Pakistani goods to a global audience.
The commitment to bolster economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia underscores the shared interest in expanding cooperation and tapping into each other’s economic potential.
