Pakistan and Iran have reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various areas of mutual interest. This commitment was expressed during a telephonic conversation between Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated Pakistan’s caretaker government on the successful conduct of parliamentary elections, and Jilani expressed deep appreciation for the warm wishes from the people of Iran.
The two countries have fully restored official engagements since the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Pakistan earlier in the month, signaling a renewed focus on enhancing diplomatic ties. This communication reinforces the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing collaboration in areas of shared interest.

Furthermore, China has also extended congratulations to Pakistan for the smooth and steady conduct of the general elections. China’s spokesperson Mao Ning noted the generally stable manner in which the elections were held and expressed hopes that political parties in Pakistan would work together to form a new government after the polls.
As political stakeholders in Pakistan continue efforts to forge alliances and secure seats in the lower house of parliament, the reaffirmation of commitment between Pakistan and Iran, along with the positive acknowledgment from China, underscores the importance of diplomatic relations and stability in the region.
