KARACHI: Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, the UAE Consul General in Karachi, has highlighted challenges faced by Pakistanis in obtaining UAE visas, attributing some of these issues to negative social media activities.
Alremeithi mentioned complaints from the UAE government regarding certain Pakistani social media influencers, particularly on platforms like TikTok, whose actions have led to stricter visa policies impacting Pakistani travelers. He encouraged Pakistanis to engage positively and represent their culture responsibly on social media, warning that negative posts could have broader implications.
He emphasized the importance of respecting other countries’ regulations and cultural norms, noting instances of people expressing dissatisfaction about these on social media. The UAE government, he said, actively monitors social media, and misuse can lead to serious consequences.
Alremeithi also affirmed the UAE’s longstanding support for Pakistan, reinforcing the close ties between the two countries. He acknowledged recent concerns regarding the recognition and attestation of Pakistani degrees in sectors like banking and healthcare, suggesting those facing issues visit the UAE Consulate for assistance.
He encouraged Pakistanis to focus on fields like education and healthcare, where many opportunities for growth and success in the UAE exist.
