Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) has emerged as the second most popular name in Netherlands in 2022.

According to the Dutch Social Insurance Bank, 671 new-born boys have been named Muhammad in 2022. Thus, the name became the second most popular in Netherlands.

Netherlands is located in the northwestern Europe with 18 million population. A rapid growth in the adoption of name Muhammad in Netherlands reflects a religious independence, harmony, and tolerance.

According to media reports, the name Muhammad is steadily getting popular amongst the Muslims living in Netherlands.

In 2018, the Netherlands got the centre-stage for blasphemy controversy when the court acquitted politician Geert Wilders of inciting hatred and discrimination.

However, the Netherlands government discouraged Islamophobia in the country and gave equal rights and protection to its Muslim citizens.

Therefore, in Netherlands Muhammad has become a strong name that has captured the hearts of countless parents in the Netherlands.
