Ukraine has announced a successful strike on an oil depot in southern Russia that supplies fuel to the Kremlin’s forces, amid ongoing clashes in the eastern Donetsk region. This escalation follows recent Russian strikes in Donetsk, where five civilians have been killed and 15 others injured.
On Sunday, Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that its forces had downed seven Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.
Additionally, a regional official confirmed that a drone strike had ignited the oil depot in Kursk province.
In Donetsk, Russian troops have made incremental advances. Russian forces are pushing westward towards the towns of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Russian troops have gained control of two villages, Prohres and Yevhenivka, located about 30 kilometers east of Pokrovsk. The previous day, Moscow claimed to have captured the village of Lozuvatske, adding it to the list of nearly a dozen villages taken in the region this month.
Russian shelling has also impacted Ukraine’s southern Kherson province, where local official Roman Mrochko reported that eight more civilians, including a 10-year-old and two teenagers, were injured in a village attack.
The escalating conflict underscores the severe and ongoing violence in the region, with both sides experiencing significant losses and damage.
