Byakuya, the most expensive ice cream in the world, was created by the luxury Japanese ice cream shop Cellate and costs over 6,000 euros or 880,000 yen.
With each bite costing 200 euros, only a select few can afford to indulge in this extravagant feast.
Byakuya has recently been named the priciest ice cream in the world by the Guinness Book of Records.
mochi
Japanese cuisine has significantly influenced European cuisine in recent decades, particularly sweets.
Mercadona’s best-selling sweet is mochi, a dish made of ice cream covered in rice paste.
Mochis are a long cry from Byakuya, the priciest ice cream in the world, which is a luxury only available to the richest people.

On its website, the Tokyo-based pastry business Cellato describes the smooth base of its Byakuya ice cream. Its made of milk, two types of cheese, egg yolks, and leek sake.
Following this, Cellato applies Parmesan cheese, white truffle, truffle oil, and gold leaf to the ice cream.
It has a slightly sweet, rich flavour, and a plush, silky texture, according to those who have eaten it.
Local artisans in Fushimi created a custom-made metal spoon for serving Byakuya ice cream at Cellato in Tokyo.
These artisans employed age-old methods that were once used to craft utensils and weapons during the samurai period.
However, it is important to note that the metal spoon is not included in the dessert.
Cellato recommends letting the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to allow for easy spooning. They also suggest mixing the ice cream with the truffle oil to enhance its flavor.
Byakuya
Cellato recommends pairing the Byakuya ice cream with a small amount of old white wine.
Although this combination may not be common, Cellato believes that it is an excellent complement to ice cream.
Due to its pricey and uncommon ingredient, white truffle, Byakuya ice cream holds the record for being the most expensive ice cream in the world.
Oddity Central reports that importers purchase the truffle in bunches costing more than 12,000 euros from Italy.
While the other ingredients—milk, cheese, egg yolks, and gold leaf—are not particularly pricey, the dessert’s high cost is due in part to the limited supply and great demand for white truffles.
Unfortunately, only a small number of people can afford to indulge in this ice cream due to its high price.
The majority of us cannot conceive of spending 6,000 euros on a single scoop of ice cream and will never get the chance to do so.
It’s possible that we will consider what else we could buy with that kind of money.
