Leaked Intelligence document Suggests India Plans to target Nijjar’s Associate in Canada

Leaked Intelligence document

Canadian Sikh leader Gurmeet Singh Toor, closely associated with the late Hardeep Singh Nijjar, received a “Duty To Warn” letter from Canadian law enforcement on August 24, 2023.

The letter, hand-delivered by Canadian intelligence and police officers to Toor’s home, alerted him to an imminent threat on his life by Indian state agents operating within Canada.

Toor, a senior member of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara’s management committee, had been actively involved in campaigning for the Khalistan Referendum in British Columbia after Nijjar’s assassination on June 18, 2023.

In addition, Toor revealed that on the night of August 25, 2023, Canadian officials from the Surrey Police and Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) arrived at his residence, emphasizing the seriousness of the threat.

The “Duty To Warn” notice stated, “The police have determined by way of one or more investigative avenues that your life may be in peril. At this time, we are unable to provide you specific details of the threat.”

Moreover, in a communique dated September 27, Sikh For Justice (SFJ) called for the immediate expulsion of India’s High Commissioner in Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma.

The letter, addressed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and leaders of other political parties, cited mounting evidence of Indian government involvement in Nijjar’s killing and the ongoing threat to Khalistan Referendum campaigners in Canada by Indian agents.

Also, SFJ’s letter argued that the expulsion of High Commissioner Verma was essential to convey Canada’s strong disapproval of India’s violation of Canadian sovereignty and its attack on the lives and liberties of Canadian citizens.

The letter concluded by urging the Canadian government to take decisive action by expelling Verma, sending a clear message that foreign government involvement in the planned murder of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is unacceptable.
