ISTANBUL – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, accompanied by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers’ Conference.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidential Office, the leaders discussed the escalating Iran-Israel conflict and its implications for regional stability. The meeting also covered broader geopolitical developments and stressed the need for unified diplomatic responses to emerging security challenges.
Field Marshal Munir joined the deputy prime minister in Istanbul following his official visit to the United States, marking a strategic convergence of military and diplomatic engagement.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan–Türkiye relations. Discussions included expanding cooperation in defence, trade, and regional diplomacy, with particular attention to the role of both countries within the Islamic world.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s greetings to President Erdogan and reiterated Pakistan’s appreciation for Türkiye’s leadership on regional and global issues concerning the Muslim world.
The meeting underscored growing coordination between Ankara and Islamabad amid heightened regional uncertainty.
