Iran is now in a better position to hit its arch-enemy Israel through its warships carrying brand-new cruise missiles.

New cruise missiles of Iran “Qadr-474” are capable of hitting the target up to 2,000 km range.

Tehran to Tel Aviv’s maximum distance is about 1,900 km. From the Iranian sea, this distance will further decrease, Tehran Times reported this development.

Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri disclosed this while talking to Iranian media. He said that the domestic cruise missile “Qadr-474” can reach targets within a range of 2,000 kilometres.

Reza said that the Mahdavi and Soleimani-class ships have been equipped with the new long-range cruise missile.

He further said that the sophisticated Soleimani warship, named after Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, has been fitted with missiles with different ranges _ from 200 km to 300, 750, and 2,000 kilometres.

The IRGC Navy will also use a new coast-to-sea cruise missile _  Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

“The Abu Mahdi missile and two other cruise missiles with 750-km and 2,000-km ranges are smart, can be guided and go after a new target before the explosion, and can be launched even from regions deep in the land and behind the mountains to hit naval targets,” he remarked.

The commander said that four Soleimani-class ships will be unveiled by the IRGC Navy during the current Iranian year, which ends on March 20, 2024.

Importantly, the Arvand River, which straddles the border between Iran and Iraq, and the Strait of Hormuz, connecting the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean, are the two boundaries of the Persian Gulf. It is around 251,000 square kilometres in size.
