Iran Vows to ‘Use All Available Tools’ in Response to Israel’s Attack

Israel’s Attack

Iran has vowed to respond forcefully to Israel’s recent airstrikes on military targets within the country, with Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei warning on Monday that Tehran will “use all available tools” to deliver a decisive response.

This statement follows the Israeli attack that took place over the weekend, targeting missile production facilities and other sites in and around Tehran, as well as in western Iran.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, has escalated tensions between the two longstanding adversaries.

While Iran initially downplayed the impact of the strikes, claiming that they had caused only limited damage, Baghaei’s remarks suggest that Tehran is now preparing for a significant retaliation.

Speaking during a televised news conference, Baghaei emphasized that Iran’s response would be proportionate to the severity of the Israeli assault, but did not provide specific details on how the country intends to retaliate.

Adding to the tension, U.S. President Joe Biden has called for both sides to de-escalate, expressing concern over the possibility of a wider conflict erupting in the already volatile Middle East.

However, Iranian leadership has made it clear that they do not intend to let the Israeli strike go unanswered.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei weighed in on Sunday, stating that Iran should neither underestimate nor overstate the Israeli assault, but instead focus on showing the regime’s strength in an appropriate manner.

According to Israel’s military, the strikes were carried out by a fleet of jets in three separate waves, targeting key military infrastructure including missile factories.

These strikes are part of a broader pattern of hostilities between the two nations, which have been locked in a cycle of retaliatory actions for months.

Saturday’s attack was reportedly a response to an Iranian missile barrage on October 1, much of which Israel claimed was intercepted by its air defense systems.

In the wider regional context, Iran’s support for Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza further complicates the situation.

Both militant groups are engaged in heavy fighting with Israeli forces, and Iran’s backing of these groups has been a major factor in the ongoing hostilities.

Hezbollah has been involved in intense clashes with Israeli forces along Lebanon’s border, while Hamas continues its fight against Israel in Gaza, leading to heightened fears that the conflict could spread across multiple fronts.

As tensions between Iran and Israel continue to simmer, the region watches closely, bracing for what could be a significant escalation in the conflict. Iran’s promised response remains unclear, but the potential for a broader conflagration looms large as both sides prepare for further confrontation.
