French expatriate in Dubai wins 20 million Dirhams Big Ticket

A Dubai-based French national expatriate won 20 million Dirhams in Big Ticket raffle draw series 243 held in Abu Dhabi.

Celine Jassin bought ticket on August 13 and she became a multi-millionaire with her ticket number 176528 within few days. She is the first French national to win the grand prize in the history of Big Ticket.

At beginning Richard and Bouchra, the hosts of the draw, failed to reach Celine over the phone after trying twice and when they contact Celine, she couldn’t believe her luck and asked: “Is this real?”

This is the second time she purchased a raffle ticket through Big Ticket. She bought the ticket along with a friend, who will share the jackpot.

Celine, a French national of Syrian ancestry, has been living in Dubai since 1998. She works as a personnel manager at a building materials company.

Asked about how she plans to spend the cash prize, Celine said she hadn’t yet decided as she hadn’t expected to win.

Also, Junelito Borja, who is from the Philippines and resides in Qatar, took home second prize of Dh1 million. He won with his ticket number 101158.

And for the second consecutive month, Big Ticket is set to hold the Mighty AED 20 Million. Next month’s grand prize is also Dh20 million and will be held on October 3.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Big Ticket’s official website, or by visiting the in-store counters at Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Ain Airport.
