ISLAMABAD: During a weekly briefing, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch criticized India’s decision to hold the Miss World beauty contest in Srinagar in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. She stated that a beauty contest cannot justify India’s occupation of the region, emphasizing that Pakistan has never accepted India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
In response to Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar’s statements, Baloch noted that the language used by the Indian FM against Pakistan goes against diplomatic etiquette. She expressed her view that there is no remedy for what she referred to as the “anti-Pakistan disease.”
Baloch paid tribute to the late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani on his second death anniversary. She described him as the true voice and representative of the Kashmiri people. She criticized the Indian military’s handling of Gilani’s burial and called on the Indian government to grant his family access to his burial site.

Additionally, Baloch highlighted a recent tragic incident in which a teacher ordered students to beat their fellow Muslim student. She stated that the Indian government is responsible for ensuring the security of Muslims.
Baloch also mentioned Pakistan’s role in United Nations peace missions and the efforts of Pakistan’s caretaker foreign minister in engaging with foreign ministers and foreign missions of different countries to discuss bilateral issues.
Finally, Baloch expressed excitement about the upcoming Asia Cup cricket match between Pakistan and India. She showed excitement for the high-voltage match saying that Pakistan’s cricket team consists of the best players.
