EU Scholarships
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani students have once again secured the most Erasmus Mundus scholarships globally to study in different universities of the European countries.
The European Union in Pakistan announced this stunning development on its official Twitter handle. The EU Pakistan termed it a big news for Pakistan.

Pakistan ranked the highest in the world with 192 talented students who won scholarships, followed by India (174), Bangladesh (140), Mexico (118), and Nigeria(109).
About 2,835 students from 143 countries received EU-funded scholarship to start one of 146 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programmes. In 2022, 3,013 students from 133 countries got scholarships for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programmes. In 2022, Pakistan ranked the highest in the world as students outperformed in the competition.
Meanwhile, in March 2023, the United States announced 500 new scholarships for university students from the flood-affected districts in Pakistan. The US announced the facility to assist Pakistani students in completing their degrees.
Last year, Pakistan suffered from the historic monsoon rains and flooding. The natural calamity claimed over 1,700 lives and displaced more than eight million people.
The US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome announced the scholarships at an event arranged to celebrate the achievements of female scholars. The event was held in honour of International Womenโs Day at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad.ย
Nawaz Sharif gets degree from Punjab University
The PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, who is in London, has received his Bachelor degree from the University of Punjab. The examination branch of the University of Punjab issued a duplicate degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA) to Nawaz Sharif.
The former PM Nawaz Sharif applied for his duplicate bachelorโs degree. Sharif applied through someone else and the University issued his BA degreeโs duplicate copy.
University of Punjab charged a fee of Rs2,990 on June 7 for issuing degree to Nawaz Sharif.
Importantly, in 1968, Nawaz Sharif graduated from the University of Punjab as a student of the Government College (GC) Lahore (now GC University).
